Dear Reader,

In Beach House Reunion (Beach House Series #5), Mary Alice Monroe invites us back to the Rutledge family’s enchanting beach house, where fifty-three-year-old Cara Rutledge has returned to Isle of Palms with a new career, deeper inner strength, and a surprising special someone.

However, Cara’s brother and his family are in a situation that is spiraling out of control. Alcoholism, drug addiction, and their widespread effects are running themes in Beach House Reunion. Cara’s maturity and resilience influences everyone around her, including the next generation of Rutledge women.

Author Mary Alice Monroe always seems to find the perfect balance between entertainment and education. Readers familiar with the Beach House series will not be surprised to know that the rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation of loggerhead sea turtles is a predominant theme. In Beach House Reunion, a character who previously played a background role in the series now comes to the forefront with an interest in alligators, so readers get to learn about this species, too.

Every time I visit Mary Alice Monroe’s beach house, I can count on a picturesque setting, interesting friends stopping by, and a fun education all at once.

Reader, what do you love most about being in a beach house?

Here with you,

Laura

P.S. Readers can easily enjoy each book from the Beach House series as a standalone novel, but if you’d like to start at the beginning, you can link to the first three books, and read my review of Beach House For Rent (#4), here. Or you can skip ahead and read my review of On Ocean Boulevard (#6) here.
